First Class

I've been itching for some time to use the airplane power adapter that I have for my laptop. The power supply that I bought is a clever shape-changer; it has adapters for 12V cigarette lighters, standard household outlets, and the airplane sockets. It can power my laptop (and a host of other brands and models) or my iPod.

The last time that I flew in the front part of the plane, the seat had the power adapter, but I was on vacation and I wasn't even carrying my laptop. The time before that, I hadn't yet bought my cool power adapter. Flying home from Chicago on Saturday, I upgraded to first. With a couple of Netflix in hand, and the power adapter ready to plug in, I was thwarted when the plane didn't have the power jacks at all. Sometimes, I don't know why I keep trying.

Remembering Late

On my recent trip to Chicago, I should have taken gloves. The weather of the Chicago fall was a bit like Seattle in winter. Temperature in the forties, some days clear, some days raining. My hands could have done with an extra layer, but I remembered them late. Somewhere over Montana, my brain kicked in and I realized that I had left my gloves in Seattle. Sadly, just a little too late to retrieve them.

Green Bananas

I just discovered that I really don't like green bananas. It's a texture issue. Next time, I'll look for the one that's starting to look more like a leopard (illegal leopard!) so I know that it's softened up a bit.

Non-Grumpy Wedding Post

My friends Nevin and Megan got married yesterday. The ceremony was quick and fun--the bride and groom wrote their own vows, plus, the bride's brother was officiating, and he occasionally does stand-up. The reception after was a lot of fun, too. Yay, and congratulations to them!
